Shorter innovation cycles, mounting complexity and heavy demands on machinery and plant productivity and availability in manufacturing are making effective operating, commissioning and service manuals a necessity. Unlike conventional, frequently unclear printed operating and service manuals, the educational software systems developed at the Fraunhofer IFF effectively compile interactive manuals that are easily used on a PC, laptop or PDA or integrated in your product’s user interface (e.g. control console). Interactive manuals are clear, easy to understand, language-independent and simple enough for anyone to use. They facilitate process standardization and can be used flexibly even among staff with minimal qualifications. They can be made available on the Intranet or Internet and accessed with a browser plug-in or used with an independent player.
