Virtual Development, Testing and Training for Tomorrow's Technologies

Virtual technologies have become indispensible in the everyday work of innovative companies. They have long since captured a spot in product and process development, whether in the aviation industry, machinery manufacturing or the automotive industry. Virtual engineering has become a crucial innovation factor. Virtual models are increasingly replacing physical objects and thus allow training highly complicated actions or safely experimenting in a computer-generated, interactive 3-D environment. Virtual and augmented reality has even long since entered medicine. At the 3rd Virtual Reality Guest Lecture Series, top speakers from business and research will report over seven consecutive weeks on the use of VR and AR technologies at their organizations. Gain insight into applications of these technologies in the automotive industry, medicine, robot development, military vehicle and aircraft development and advanced technical training. The lecture series will conclude with a presentation of the use of laser projection in virtual environments followed by a tour through the testing facility in the Fraunhofer IFF’s new Virtual Development and Training Centre VDTC.

Attendance is free of charge and registration through November 15 is unnecessary. Since attendance will be limited, we do ask you to register on our website under the rubric “Aktuelles – Gastvortragsreihe VR” for the events in the VDTC from November 23 onward.
