2nd Guest Lecture Series
“Human and Machine in Interactive Dialog”
Wednesdays at 5 p.m. at the Fraunhofer IFF
October 26 - December 7, 2005
PatronDr. Horst Rehberger
State Innovation Commissioner and Saxony-Anhalt Minister of Economics and Labor
The development and manufacture of new technical products necessitates the use of innovative technologies and the reorganization of complex process chains. The consequences range from new factory buildings to the reorganization of entire production networks. In view of the time pressure and the great complexity of the tasks, virtual models are increasingly supporting the individual phases of the product life cycle, from design to testing up through commissioning. Virtual prototypes are increasingly replacing physical models of a product. Computer simulation enables reproducing a real machine or plant’s behavior, experimenting with virtual prototypes and using them for training purposes.
Speakers from the business and research communities will give presentations on the form in which and extent to which methods of virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality have entered their companies and how they as users and developers assess the technology trends in this sectors.
In the second Guest Lecture Series, speakers will deliver presentations on highly interesting topics such as the use of virtual, augmented and mixed reality in flight simulation, robotics or medicine.
You are cordially invited to attend the lectures at the Fraunhofer IFF. The event is free. Registration is not required.
