VR Guest Lecture Series: Interactive Humans and Machines
5 p.m. Wednesdays, October 28 - Dezember 2, 2009 at theFraunhofer IFF VDTC, Joseph-von-Fraunhofer-Str. 1, 39106 Magdeburg
The topics of our sixth guest lecture series revolve around methods and technologies of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and virtual engineering (VE).
Computer-based technologies for modeling, simulation and visualization as well as virtual technologies have become standard tools for integrated digital product and factory development, testing and operation. Methods of virtual and augmented reality furnish diverse options for user interaction in and with objects in computer-generated 3-D environment. Clincial engineering, for instance, is already employing patient data to precisely plan and train complicated operations to minimize risks for patients.
Top speakers from business, academia and research will report on their organization’s use of VR, AR and VE technologies in state-of-the-art product development or clinical engineering for example.
You may tour the Fraunhofer IFF's Virtual Development and Training Centre VDTC after each lecture and, for instance, visit the Elbe Dom, a one-of-a-kind 360 degree laser projection system that presents virtual environments.
You are invited to attend our Guest Lecture Seris at the Virtual Development and Training Centre. Admission is free.
