9th IFF Science Days a Resounding Success
The organizers of the IFF Science Days see its outcome positively. With 400 participants from industry and the research and academic community, attendance was stronger than ever before. The large share of participants from commercial enterprises demonstrated that the IFF Science Days match the needs of enterprises. Thus, the Fraunhofer IFF forms a functioning interface between research and business. The content of this year´s conference emphasized virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). VR denotes a three-dimensional and interactive environment created by a computer in which users can immerse themselves. Augmented reality refers to the insertion of information into a user´s field of vision. Users may for example be outfitted with special glasses with a projection system to do this.
